Trustees

Since the school was founded in 1976, Stella Maris has been helping to create mature, confident individuals who are able to make their way in the world and achieve highly in their chosen professions.

It is a key objective of the Board of Trustees to provide a secure financial position for the school and so enable it to continue to deliver a rich Curriculum which will ensure academic success for its pupils.

The role of the Trustee is a voluntary one and we are always welcoming to anyone who may be interested in joining our expanding team. If you are interested please contact our Chair, Mr John Sibbald.

John

John has over thirty year of experience teaching, leading and governing in Manchester secondary schools. He is currently working with several local and regional authorities and multi-academy trusts on digital strategy and excellence supporting quality teaching.

John has served as an elected teacher governor at a high school and chaired at a primary special school which was always rated ‘oustanding’. He brings to the board his understanding of the education landscape in England including accountability, safeguarding and the inspection framework

Sam

Sam has worked within the events industry for over 30 years. Beginning her career in large corporates based within the UK and overseas, initiating and leading on their marketing and events strategies. This enabled her to establish her own events agency working with blue chips and educational organisations to create and deliver events globally.  She has worked with government bodies to develop best practices within the MICE industry and is also a guest lecturer at MMU mentoring students as they begin their future careers.

Sam is actively involved with a charity which gives women the confidence they need to reach their full potential, secure employment, and change the trajectory of their lives. She loves to travel, is a keen walker and enjoys spending time with her family.

Dani

Dani is first and foremost a Mum with her daughter now in Year 6 at Stella Maris after starting when she was 3 years old in the nursery/Pre-Prep. She is passionate about the school having lived the values first hand and seeing the benefits of such a strong, supportive and ambitious school.

Dani is also the CCO (Chief Commercial Officer) of a PLC and has significant experience across technology, digital, finance and operations. Dani brings to the Board a passion for the school and the skills to help support the digital landscape, awareness of the school and the internal and external communications.

David

David has been in finance for almost 40 years. He started in a small accountancy firm, In 2001 he was appointed UK financial controller for a US Corporation in charge of 5 sites. In 2009 he completed an MBO of one of those sites, which he subsequently sold in 2022, he continues as Finance Director of
that company.

He enjoys all sports, especially football, he helped set up an open age Sunday league football club which he is still heavily involved with. He is married with three children.
